This means the product, which costs £54 and was sold online, in Mothercare stores and in other outlets, could pose a safety risk for tots.

In a statement posted , the company said that the issue affected "a small number" of cribs sold from January to November 2017.

Parents who have bought the product are now being urged to stop using it and return it immediately to Mothercare for a full refund.

The models of Hyde Crib affected are: R2412 and the barcode is: 502146378938-2.

According to the retailer, if the bottom rail, with blocks on which you sit the base, is shorter than the top rail, then your crib is not affected.

The crib is not the only product aimed at kids that has been recalled in recent months.

Karleigh, of Northamptonshire, said she had immediately contacted Mothercare by phone about the incident – but only heard back after tweeting them multiple times on social media.

She told the Sun Online: "The bouncer had completely come apart.

"I was so annoyed nobody would take me seriously.

"I only got an answer because I hounded them on Twitter."
