URGENT RECALL

Morrisons recalls salad dressing over fears it could trigger an allergic reaction

The supermarket has pulled bottles of Eat Smart Honey and Mustard Dressing from shelves after it was discovered that they could be potentially harmful

MORRISONS has recalled bottles of honey and mustard salad dressing because the label failed to declare that they contained egg and mustard.

This means that it could trigger a potentially life threatening reaction to someone who is allergic to egg and mustard if they came into contact with it.

Egg and mustard allergies can cause wheezing and coughing fits, red and itchy skin, the face to swell and in severe cases, they could cause some to go into anaphylactic shock.

The affected products are 250ml bottles of salad dressing with a best before date of November 2018. They have a batch code of L7306.

Morrisons told the Sun Online that there are just over 1,000 of the affected bottles in circulation.

If you think you have one of the affected bottles, you should return it to the store you bought it from in exchange for a refund.

Supermarkets recall thousands of products from the shelves each year.

Many safety warnings for products are issued as a precautionary measure - but others are much more serious.

As a general rule, if a recall involves a branded product, the manufacturer would usually have lead responsibility for the recall action.

But it's often left up to supermarkets to notify customers when products could put them at risk.

The government is to set up a new body to help protect people from faulty goods and recalls, ministers announced last week – in a victory for The Sun.

Ministers have listened to our demand to increase protection for consumers from unsafe products.

How spicy is the Morrisons' £1.50 'hottest supermarket curry of all time?'
