ALDI is bringing back its enormous beef rump steak - but meat lovers will have to be quick to take advantage of the offer.

The discount retailer's "Big Daddy" British rump steak costs just £4.99 but weighs nearly half a kilo.

Aldi claims the steak is 100g bigger and 42 per cent cheaper than its Tesco equivalent.

This means the offer is now even better value than when the budget retailer first launched the offer in June for Father’s Day, when its product was just 39 per cent cheaper compared its closest rival.

The deal is actually one of the best we found out there, for those looking for a big piece of meat.

Sainsbury's rump steak is slightly cheaper at £4.50 but it's also much smaller weighing just 225g.

Asda is selling a beef rump for even cheaper at just £3.70 but again it's half the weight of Aldi's.

Morrisons is currently offering its 330g rump steak for £3.58 down from £4.84 - a pretty decent discount.

Aldi claims the rump steak has the same benefits of a fillet, but with more flavour.

It is best cooked over a very high heat, with a generous resting time up to 10 minutes, according to the supermarket

The popular cut will be in stores today (Thursday January 18t) - but you'll have to be very quick if you want one.

It will be available for one day only and while stocks last - this usually means it will be gone in a matter of hours.

That's because it's part of Aldi's Specialbuys. Twice a week the bargain supermarket launches "an exciting mix of top quality, great value products"  but stock is limited and they're only supplied to certain stores.

You can also get the Big Daddy Steak as part a range of six deals on meat that are available since last week.

Both budget stores have recently been given the stamp of approval by posh lifestyle magazine Tatler.

BARBE-ZOO Aldi is selling £4.99 OSTRICH steaks as part of its new beefed up meat offers

Meat from both budget supermarket chains have made the list, with Aldi's Specially Selected 30-day aged fillet steak costing just over a fiver.

Morrisons is also known for its generous offers for meat lovers.

In October, the supermarket, which committed to sell British-only fresh meat, sold a meat box with almost 2kg of meat for just £10.
