If so, today could be your lucky day. Dubbed “take-back Tuesday”, it is the busiest day of the year for online shopping returns.
Hundreds of thousands of items are returned to high street stores as we head back to work.
Clothes and shoes are the goods most likely to be sent back. If an item you need has been out of stock, there is a good chance you can grab it again this week — if you’re quick.
Here are six tips to help you make the most of take-back Tuesday.
- Sign up to the retailer’s email alert service so you are the first to know when items are back in stock.
- Many of the big names, including Debenhams, Superdry and Argos, have eBay stores, offering discounts of up to 80 per cent on returned goods. Check daily for new deals.
- Shopping in-store? Then try the rails near the customer service or returns desk, where newly returned items go.
- Scour the “WIGIG” (When It’s Gone It’s Gone) rails. Some shops label them “last chance to buy” and group all returned and end-of-line items together.
- Have a rummage at your nearest TK Maxx or online at en because many stores send their returns here.
- Bookmark what you are after online, including size and colour, so you can check to see if it is in stock again.
