Cheapest champagne, prosecco, cava and fizz deals for New Year revealed
THE clock strikes midnight and the cork goes pop - is there a better sound to hear when welcoming in the new year?
And there's a way to do it without worrying about your wallet. We've done some digging around to find the best deals and trust us, now's the time to stock up.
There are loads of offers out there and we geddit... it's confusing.
To help you out, we've compared the prices of cava, prosecco and champagne (branded and non branded) using MySupermarket.com to find out who is selling the cheapest bubbly.
We also asked Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Asda M&S, Morrisons and Co-op, as well as Lidl and Aldim to send us what they thought were their best deals.
Of course, we don't take into account the quality of the alcohol so that may be reflected in the price.
It's also worth noting that prices change rapidly in the run-up to the festive season - so the best offer today might change by tomorrow.

The cheapest non branded champagne - and the
The cheapest offers when it comes to champagne unsurprisingly come from the two budget supermarkets, Aldi and Lidl.
Both the and the are award-winning champagnes and are selling for £10.99 a bottle.
That means that a glass of the fizz will cost £1.80 - a bargain if ever we saw one.
The cheapest branded champagnes
Lanson Black Label - For £22 at and
If you're looking for a more established brand, you can get a bottle of Lanson Black Label from £22 at Tesco and Sainsbury's.
It's worth taking into account that if you miss the festive discounts, Sainsbury's usually has the cheaper price on Lanson at £30 per bottle.
Veuve Clicquot - For £32 at and
The leading champagne house of Veuve Clicquot is still one of the most popular brands, thanks to its famous bubbly.
And you can now get a small discount at both Waitrose and Tesco where the bubbly costs £32, down from £39 and £40 respectively.
If you want to impress your guests on New Year's Eve, a luxurious bottle of Moët & Chandon should do the trick.
Created from more than 100 different wines, the Moët Imperial style is distinguished by a bright fruitiness with notes of green apple and white flowers.
And you can now get it for a fraction of the price at Asda, which is selling a 750ml bottle for £25.
Tattinger Brut Reserve NV Champagne - £24 at
Taittinger is one of the few champagne houses still owned and managed by the family whose name appears on the label.
In fact, it is so luxurious many retailers recommend that it can only be paired with smoked salmon.
Thankfully, Waitrose is now selling a bottle for a discounted £24 down from £36 - but the offer ends on December 31.
Morrisons - almost £10 less than the other retailers - all year round.
Bollinger is famous for its consistency of style, structure and aromatic complexity.
You can now get the posh tipple for a discounted £30, down from £44 from Asda.
You'll find the next best deal at Sainsbury's, which is selling the bottle for £34.

Cava is a lot more affordable than prosecco or champagne, and can sometimes be a delight, like this one from .
It is followed closely by rival Aldi with its .
Last but not least is the Montcadi Cava Brut from .
The cheapest prosecco - and
Often regarded as champagne’s younger, cheaper cousin, prosecco has gained in popularity over the last few years.
Recent figure from revealed that the average price of a bottle has fallen by 23p to £6.76 this year boosted by falling prices from bargain retailers Lidl and Aldi.

And, according to our research, both supermarkets still have the cheapest fizz on offer with their Frizante which are selling for £5.25.
Best Christmas drinks offers
Frizzante means that this is not quite as fizzy as Prosecco Spumante, but it is still lively and more-ish.
You won't be able to order these online though and you'll need to pop in to store to get yours.
How to get the best deal on your fizz
BEFORE buying your fizz, make sure you’re getting the best deal possible with these tips.
- Look for vouchers on money saving websites like andwho list deals you can hand over to retailers.
- Check sites like to check if you can get the same bottle cheaper in any other supermarket. You can also see when products were on offer to see if you’re getting the best deal.
- Keep an eye out for discounts, offers and reduced prices.
- Check online and in stores to see if the supermarket is offering a special deal if you shop at one or the other.
If you're willing to jump through a few hoops you can actually snap up bottles of prosecco worth £6 at some supermarkets for just £1.50.
