Apprentice winner Alana Spencer faces Lord Sugar’s fury after product recall over allergy warnings
Alana Spencer's cake company, Ridiculously Rich by Alana, was forced to take products off shelves because they didn't adequately list potential allergens
APPRENTICE winner Alana Spencer’s cake company had to recall packs because they had no allergy warning.
Some in the Ridiculously Rich by Alana range had not listed potential allergens such as peanuts, eggs or soya adequately.
The Food Standards Agency said it made them a “possible health risk”.
A source said: “She has had to recall some products, not the entire range.
“It’s about warning customers because the labels weren’t quite right. It is careless.”
It is thought Alana, 25, had to face Lord Sugar’s annoyance over the bungle.
He invested £250,000 in the firm and became a partner after she won The Apprentice in 2016.
Alana has revealed she still gets nervous before her monthly meetings with him.
It is understood the labelling issue was with £12.99 boxes of mixed cakes.
A spokesman for Alana said yesterday: “There was an issue with inaccurate labelling on some mixed boxes sold on the Ridiculously Rich website.
“Lord Sugar was made aware of the situation immediately.
“He’s spoken to Alana and is satisfied she has put the right measures in place to avoid a situation like this again.”
