Lidl is doing Black Friday for the first time but are the deals any good?
BUDGET supermarket Lidl is taking part in Black Friday this year with deals of up to 75 per cent off on food, tech and booze.
Featuring favourites like the Jamón Serrano Reserva Ham Leg and Tomahawk Steak, as well as a George Foreman grill and a Trekstor laptop Champagne Brut, this is one you definitely don't want to miss.
It's the first time the German retailer has taken part in any Black Friday promotion and it is launching a day early on November 23 rather than November 24.
The offers are limited so you'll have to get in quick if you want to take advantage of them.
Highlights include a bottle of Champagne for under a tenner and £70 off a George Foreman grill.
Ryan McDonnell, commercial director at Lidl UK, said: “We’re pleased to be taking part in our first ever Black Friday promotion.
"This is a highly anticipated event in the consumer calendar, especially as households turn their focus on to Christmas planning, and we know our fantastic promotion will not disappoint."
We take a closer look at the deals and see if they really are as good as they look.

Comte de Senneval Champagne Brut 750ml, Now £8.99, Was £10.99
This deal on the bottle of bubbly is definitely one you shouldn't miss.
The same bottle costs £10.99 from Lidl rival Aldi and twice as much at Waitrose and Ocado where it costs £19.99 for a bottle.
You can pick it up cheapest at Lidl on their day of discounts.
Cimarosa Australian Chardonnay 750ml, Now £2.99, Was £3.99
According to Lidl, the ripe wine has a spicy oak background. We can't find it sold anywhere else, so any discount on the normal retail price here is fine by us.
The Deluxe Dry Aged British Beef Tomahawk Steak, £14.99 per kg
It looks like this is the first time that the budget store is stocking this specific cut of meat.
Waitrose sells two beef tomahawk steaks for £26.99 - so this is a real deal from Lidl.
But earlier this year, Aldi sold the same cut of meat for £12.99, so while it's still a deal, we've seen them sold cheaper before.
The Deluxe Jamón Serrano Reserva Ham Leg, £29.99
A few weeks ago, we reported how miniature 1kg versions of these popular posh legs of Spanish dried ham are back in stores for £14.99 per kg.
But Lidl is bringing out the big guns for Black Friday and selling hams that weigh between 6.5kg and 7.5kg for £29.99.
This cut of dried meat usually costs more than £60 per kg so you're definitely scooping a deal.
But even though these aren't sold all year round, we've seen them for this price before.
Trekstor Surftab® Twin 10.1 Convertible Notebook, £199
Lidl's not exactly known for it's tech but it will be stocking the Trekstor Surftab® Twin 10.1 Convertible Notebook for it's Black Friday promotion.
The laptop can be turned into a notebook and a tablet, plus it has 2GB RAM and up to 64GB of storage.
We can't find this make and style being sold anywhere else, but if you're looking for a cheap laptop that doubles up as a tablet they're not the cheapest on the market.
You can pick up an Acer One 10.1 Inch Intel Atom 2GB 64GB 2-in-1 Laptop for £169.99 from , so maybe Lidl isn't the best place for your tech.
Alcatel 10.16 Mobile Phone, £8.99
If you're someone who's really not bothered about the latest model of mobile phone, then maybe you can pick up the basic Alcatel 10.16 Mobile Phone while you do your food shop.
It calls, it texts and it's got 160 hours worth of battery life - who needs the new iPhone X?
But Lidl isn't the only place stocking the phone and is selling it for almost half the price at £4.99 for the handset.
While some of these deals are great for your wallet, don't fall for all of the Black Friday deals that might not be as good as they seem.
