When is the Iceland Christmas advert out? Date and predictions for the festive commercial – All you need to know
The Christmas season brings with it a flurry of festive TV and those all important seasonal ads, here's what we expect from Iceland
WHEN the Christmas adverts start to drop, you know the festive season is upon you.
And it won't be long before Iceland release its yule-tide offering. Here's what we know so far...
When is the Iceland Christmas advert released?
Last year the chain held off until the beginning of December to release its advert in order to try and avoid "festive fatigue".
And this year is no exception as it has been announced the advert will launch on December 1 (TODAY).
Eager beavers can catch the advert at 9.30pm during I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and Gogglebox.
And this year we can expect more than one advert, as the supermarket roll out a series of short clips.
What are our predictions for the Iceland Christmas advert?
Iceland have revealed this year's tongue-in-cheek Christmas campaign features a series of nine laugh-out-loud 20-second adverts using real video footage of families unwrapping Christmas gifts.
The hero advert features five-year old Isla of The Ingham Family – one of Britain’s most popular vlogging families – whose hilarious present-opening reactions last Christmas reached 38 million views.
The adverts feature real people from real online footage. Some of the people are already popular online but many are regular UK families.
Mel Matson, marketing director at Iceland, said: “This Christmas we decided to go against the ‘tear-jerking, blockbuster’ grain with lots of 20 seconds ads that will hopefully make people feel jolly this Christmas.
“Of course we know that children wouldn’t really wish for a Gilded Turkey or a Lobster Thermidor at Christmas, but we had great fun imagining how they would react to finding our award-winning food under the tree.”

What was the Iceland Christmas advert last year?
In last year's Iceland advert we meet Nick and Sarah Claus and their pet dog named Snow.
The self-confessed “Christmas-a-holics” had a special delivery full of Christmas fayre.
Sarah said: “He’s working double shifts, all through the night, to get everything finished.”
Upon seeing the table full of food as he returns “in-between shifts” for some grub, Nick declares: “It’s champion”.
The advert finishes up with Mrs Claus admitting that she was unaware of the “power of frozen food.”
