Lidl’s 1kg posh leg of Spanish ham for £14.99 is back in stores now
The supermarket's Spanish ham comes with a traditional wooden stand and specialist ham knife. Similar products at rival retailers can cost up more than £60 per kg.
IF you're looking to impress your guests this Christmas, then Lidl might have the deal for you.
The bargain supermarket has brought back its posh leg of Spanish dried ham - which can usually cost more than £60 per kg - for £14.99 per kg.
The 1kg scaled-down version of the popular cured meat comes with a traditional wooden stand and specialist ham knife.
According to Lidl, its small size makes it perfect for intimate dinner parties and special occasions, making it a worthy addition to your Christmas table.
It also costs just a fraction of the full-size version in posh supermarkets.
The release follows on from what the company called "the huge success in previous years of the full-size Serrano Ham Leg".
The first time Lidl introduced the product in 2015, it sold about 30,000 units across just one festive season.
Are there any catches?
Serrano ham has become a popular dish to enjoy at Christmas in the past few years. So we expect Lidl's offer to be quite popular too.
But the supermarket's Spanish ham will only be on shelf whilst stock last - so we would advise you to be quick to avoid disappointment.
It is also worth noting that Lidl's product is similar but not exactly the same as Serrano ham.
So it might not taste as good as the one from posher rivals.
Is it worth it?
Lidl's luxury ham has gone up in price and the supermarket definitely had better deals before.
Last year, for example it was selling the exact same product for £2 cheaper at £12.99.
It's also worth noting that Morrisons, in 2016, was selling a leg of the same ham for a bargain £9.99 - complete with a chopping board.
Meanwhile, rival budget supermarket Aldi was selling a bigger version of the same product for £24.99 and it came with a carving knife and a stand.

So, it might be worth waiting a few days to see what these supermarkets will have on offer for Christmas before rushing to your nearest Lidl store.
Still, compared to similar products at upmarket retailers, Lidl's offer is a pretty decent deal.
For example, Marks and Spencer's is selling a - that comes in at £50 per kg.
Waitrose was also - although it is currently out of stock.
