Asda beats M&S and Waitrose in bacon taste test – and it’s cheaper too
The panel of judges selected by consumer group Which? assessed the bacon first in its raw condition and after it was fried up
WHETHER you prefer it crispy or lightly done, there's nothing like some bacon to kick-start the day.
Now consumer group Which? has tasted and rated the ten top bacon brands to find out which is the best to serve with your next full English breakfast.
Four food experts selected by Which? agreed that Asda's extra special thick cut dry cured unsmoked bacon was better than similar products from posh supermarkets Marks & Spencer and Waitrose.
At just £2.43, the budget supermarket's value-for-money bacon is also more than £1 cheaper compared to the unsmoked dry cured British bacon from Waitrose, which costs £3.49.
It's also 77p cheaper than the Wiltshire cured unsmoked back bacon from M&S.

The taste test was conducted blind, so they had no idea what bacon was from which brand.
The bacon brands included products from Aldi, Asda, Co-op, Lidl, Marks & Spencer, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose, as well as Denhay bacon.
