The Boots deal is one of the most popular on the high street and lets hungry shoppers pick up a sandwich, drink and snack.

In January, the chemist rose the price from £3.79 to £3.89, with the latest 10p rise coming this week.

The price increase only applies to its stores in London and at airports.

The cost outside the capital for the deal is £3.39.

Earlier this year phone firm 02 pulled the Boots Meal Deal from its loyalty scheme.

The deal meant 02 customers could pick up the meal deal on Monday for just a £1.

Some customers have taken to social media to voice their displeasure.

A spokesman for the company told The Sun Online: "We regularly review our prices taking into account both internal and external factors, and we are always trying to limit any impact these may have on our customers.

"The decision to increase the meal deal price from £3.89 to £3.99 in our London & airport stores will allow us to maintain the wide range of choice our customers enjoy and expect with over six million Meal Deal combinations.

"The all-inclusive nature of our meal deal ensures we are still offering customers great value."

Lots of shops have lunchtime meal deals to tempt hungry workers.

In August, Tesco revamped its meal deal offer a host of new sandwiches, alongside a drink and a snack for just £3.

If you want a bit of luxury, Marks and Spencer reduced its price on its meal deal from £4 to £3.50.

Last year Sainsbury's found itself at the centre of a social media storm when it removed its premium Taste the Difference sandwiches from its lunchtime deal.
