This marks the first time that the posh brand has been available to UK shoppers outside its own boutique stores and Harrods.

The range includes three chocolate bars from the Godiva Masterpiece Collection - two milk chocolate treats with a smooth caramel filling and a creamy hazelnut praline filling and one dark chocolate bar with a ganache filling.

Each one of them cost just £1.50 for a 83g bar.

That's half the cost of a regular Godiva milk chocolate and a Godiva dark chocolate ganache bar which both cost £3 for a 45g treat at the company's own stores.

This is the first time the Godiva brand has ever been sold in a UK supermarket.

Individually wrapped pieces, as well as gifting and sharing boxes and tablets from Godiva’s core range are also available at the supermarket.

It is worth noting, that you can't compare these products like-for-like as Godiva doesn't sell the exact same items in its shops.

Still, if you're looking for delicious and nicely wrapped chocolates at a bargain price it is worth dropping by your local Sainsbury's.

Rachel Clark, Sainsbury’s category manager for Impulse said the store is committed to offering customers the greatest choice of differentiated food in stores.

She added: "Godiva is a leading, premium chocolate brand and the partnership is a great example of how we’re innovating in our stores to bring our customers an exciting choice of high-quality products and brands that many won’t be able to find anywhere else.”
