Give up smoking for Stoptober and save £3,000 — plus use your Sun Savers code to win £100,000
SICK of watching your money go up in smoke?
Sunday marks the start of Stoptober, an annual month-long campaign urging smokers to quit.
NHS research shows the average smoker spends an astonishing £250 a month on the habit, or £3,000 a year.
But if you can stop smoking for 28 days, you are five times more likely to stop for good.
And if that is not enough to get you stubbing out, analysis from M&G Investments shows if you had quit when Stoptober was first launched five years ago, and invested the money you would have saved, you could now have a bumper cash pot of £18,653.
M&G’s Ritu Vohora said: “If you’re attempting Stoptober this year, putting aside even part of the money you would normally spend on cigarettes could make a big difference over time.”
