Harptree Court in Somerset was also seen in the first ever episode of Skins starring Slumdog Millionaire actor Dev Patel.

The mansion's treehouse was featured in Vogue while some scenes of Casualty have also been filmed there.

With the hit cookery show moving to Channel 4, the mansion has become a slice of TV history as the episodes filmed in the sprawling back garden of the property were broadcast on BBC One.

At the time the mansion was used for the show, the series was still hosted by Mel and Sue with Mary Berry also on the beloved team.

Linda and Charles Hill have particularly fond memories from 2012 and 2013, when the property's lawn was hosting the famous Bake Off tent.

During filming, the mansion was turned almost upside down with TV crews bringing in props, cake stands and bunting.

A billiards room was turned into a mess hall and upstairs rooms were used as offices.

They even built a wooden bridge to join the field with the main building.

While filming a season, the crew was working on the property every weekend for 12 weeks.

But the owners told how they didn't mind the changes as they had a lot of fun during these weeks.

Linda, 60, said: "I have never laughed so much as filming for Great British Bake Off.

"The crew were all lovely."

The Grade-II listed mansion, that currently operates as a luxury bed and breakfast, boasts six reception rooms, seven bathrooms and nine bedrooms, and it has been in Charles' family since 1920.

Linda said: "It will be emotional leaving but there is enormous potential for the new owner."
