How Halfords can help you spread the cost of Christmas
The retailer will let you pay for your Christmas presents in instalments - but you've got to be quick
CHRISTMAS is to be made a little easier on the purse-strings this year thanks to Halfords - but you'll have to be quick to take advantage.
The UK's biggest cycling and motoring retailer has announced details of its new payment scheme that will let you spread the cost of your presents over 12-months, interest fee.
The scheme is available both in-store and online BUT it is only running for the next three weeks - until 15 October - so if you fancy a new bike you better get a move on.
You'll also have to spend a total of £199 or more - and pass the scheme's eligibility criteria - to take advantage.
Should you be tempted by the payment scheme?
With Christmas being such an expensive time, it's always tempting to try and spread the cost of big purchases - and 12-months at 0 per cent interest is a pretty good deal.
But before you do, always check to see if you can get your items at a rival retailer.
It could be cheaper to buy your presents elsewhere.
And of course, saving up the cash, and using that for your Christmas shopping is the best thing to do of all.
Lots of retailers offer schemes to help you spread the cost of Christmas.
Supermarkets including Tesco, Asda and Morrisons all have their own saving schemes.
PIMP YOUR TREE - You can buy Christmas tree lights from John Lewis which are customizable using an app
