Asda has created a croissant and bread roll hybrid called the ‘croll’…and it’s much less messy to eat
ASDA has combined the buttery taste and texture of pastry with the structural hold of a bread roll to create the "croll".
The supermarket's croissant and bread roll hybrid has been created to be "significantly less flaky" so that eaters can enjoy it with minimum mess.
And apparently that makes it a lot easier to slice, fill and scoff than it's famous French ancestor.
It follows the success of other pastry hybrids, like the cronut (croissant doughnut) and dagel (doughnut bagel).
The posh roll looks a bit like a bagel and costs £1 for a pack of two in Asda.
But pastry fans will have to watch their waistlines if they want to indulge with a croll on a regular basis, each one has 219 calories - almost 100 calories more than a classic white bap.
Emily Stevens, Asda’s bakery product developer said: “The croll is a revolution for pastry enthusiasts around the country.
"We’re constantly looking to innovate and make life easier for our customers, without expecting them to compromise on taste.
"Not only will you avoid leaving a trail of flakes behind, the croll is extremely versatile, not to mention delicious.

"My personal favourite filling is Mozzarella, Basil and Tomato.”
It's not the only supermarket to jump on the hybrid food trend.
In May, Marks & Spencer started selling a cruffin - a cross between a muffin and croissant.
While in February, the posh shop launched a savoury hot cross bun that contained mature cheddar cheese, spices and sultanas.
