WETHERPOONS charges up to twice as much at rail stations and airports than in its high street pubs, it has emerged.
The chain demands more for booze, hot drinks, meals, and food and drink combos at its outlets in travel hubs.
Filter coffee at London’s Victoria railway station is £2.10 compared to £1.10 in some pubs.
Sausage and mash is £8.09 compared with £5.99, while burger and booze combos at rail stations and airports are £9.49 compared to £7.25.
Magners cider is £3.50 a pint at Victoria yet as low as £1.99 in pubs.
Stella lager at The Red Lion at Gatwick is £4.70 but between £3 and £4 on the High Street.
A 25ml measure of Captain Morgan white rum, £4.05 at Victoria, is on the firm’s website at £1.99.
Industry analyst Rosie Davenport said: “With most transport hubs offering more choice, if travellers aren’t happy they will vote with their feet.”
