Tesco is ALREADY selling festive tubs of chocolate – 130 days before Christmas
CHRISTMAS has come early at Tesco.
Britain’s biggest supermarket is already selling festive tubs of chocolate 130 days - or a whopping four months - before the big day.
Mother-of-two Rose O'Keefe, 34, was one of the first customers to spot the treats.
She took a photograph of festive Miniature Heroes boxes stacked up at her local store in Sevenoaks, Kent, this week.
Christmas Quality Street, Celebrations and Roses boxes are also on sale.
In a post on Tesco's Facebook page, Mrs O'Keefe said: “We have Halloween and bonfire night first and not forgetting the children aren't even back at school yet!
“What happened to the magic of the end of November and Christmas bits appearing? What happened to the excitement and build-up?"
Other stunned shoppers took to Twitter to share their surprise and complain.
“Do we really need Christmas sweets out on August 18th @Tesco maybe October but its still summer !! #Christmas,” one user tweeted.
Another one wrote: "Maybe a little bit premature @Tesco surely? Or have I slept for 2 months and it's actually October??? There's even snow on one 🙈 #Christmas"
"Stop panicking everyone. The Christmas chocolates are in at @Tesco on Portland. No pumpkins yet though. #timeisrunningout," one user wrote.
But some cash-strapped shoppers thanked Tesco for putting the treats on the shelves early.
A father-of-two tweeted: “With 2 young kids in the house I'm gonna keep them to help Santa buy presents at Christmas time!! Thanks again Tesco - super service!”
Tesco confirmed that the festive treats were already on sale at larger stores.
“We know some of our customers like to buy products associated with Christmas a little earlier in the year, so we’re stocking a limited range in some of our stores,” a spokesperson for Tesco told the Sun Online.
Tesco is not the only retailer already getting ready for Christmas.
