BARGAIN BUCKET

The Online Pound Store where you can snap up big name brands at a MASSIVE discount

BARGAIN hunters have spotted a website selling big name brands at a MASSIVE discount.

The Online Pound Store offers a whole range of branded products – from kids accessories to health and beauty products and cheap electricals - with many being sold for just £1.

Some of the best deals include an ultra-rich lip balm from L'Occitane, which costs £1 instead of £8 – a saving of £7 or nearly 90 per cent.

As well as a fibrology hair thickening booster from L'Oreal which costs £1 - compared to £5.99 at Superdrug.

There's also a Gillette fusion power cool white razor for £4.95 instead of its usual retail price of £12.99, saving more than £8 in the process.

But just like other pound shops, some of the products cost more than £1 and it's important to check that the discounts are real.

The website isn't new - it's been going since February 2014.

But it was spotted by freebie hunter Anushka Fernando, who works at UK.

She said: "Online Poundstore offers a wide range of items for just £1. It's fantastic for branded cleaning products, baby essentials and top health and beauty products".

"We made an order and didn't have any issues. We bought L'Occitane goodies - they made a great gift for our in-laws."

It's not just beauty products, The Sun Online spotted a hand blender from Bosch selling for £24.95 compared to £31.98 on Argos.

We also saw a toaster and egg maker selling for £24.95 instead of its usual retail price of £49.99. The product is also more expensive on Amazon where it is currently selling for £33.99.

Despite the great discounts, there is a small catch - you'll have to spend £4.95 to get your items delivered.

This means you'll need to buy quite a few items to make the delivery worth it.

HOW TO PROTECT YOUR PURCHASES

IT'S important when shopping online to know your rights.

If you're unhappy with a product you've ordered online than you have 14 days to change your mind and get a full refund.

When shopping online you should be savvy - check that the website is secure when you make a payment.

If you're spending over £100 (and under £50,000) and you pay by credit card then your purchase will be protected under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. This means you'll get your money back if the item doesn't arrive.

If you're paying by debit card then you can usually use a system called Chargeback if you have any problems getting a refund.

For PayPal payments, it promises to refund you if the item you've bought online doesn't arrive or doesn't match the seller's description.

You also have to be bear in mind that some products may be past their use by date and some products may say not be for resale or sample.

If you're unhappy with your product you have the right to change your mind within 14 days of delivery.

To snap up other online bargains, check out eBay – as an investigation by the Sun Online earlier this year found that shops flog leftover stock on the auction site and discounts can be as good as 80 per cent off high street prices.

Over 50 big names, including Argos, Debenhams, Lakeland, Tesco and Superdrug, have official shops on eBay.

The products are mostly new and never-been-used end of line stock or leftover sales items. Some shops may sell “refurbished” items which are usually products which have been returned by customers.

Bargain hunters can also cash in on fiftypencefashion - the online website where everything costs 50p.
