Lidl sparks supermarket price war by offering a full school uniform for just £3.75
Both Lidl and Aldi are offering a skirt or trousers, polo shirt and sweatshirt or cardigan - for just £3.75
LIDL has sparked a supermarket price war, after launching what it claims is the "best value back to school range", at just £3.75.
The outfit, for children aged four to 12, goes on sale next Thursday, and is a flat price, regardless of age.
It includes a skirt or trousers (£1.25), polo shirt (£1.25 for a pack of two) and sweatshirt or cardigan (£1.25).
The polo shirts come in both blue and white, while the jumper comes in navy, grey and red.
Shoppers can also choose between black and grey for the trouser and skirt.
Other items in the newly-revamped range include a pinafore dress (£2.99), plimsolls (1.99), underwear (£1.79 for a pack of 5) and leather shoes (£6.99).
Last year, Lidl’s first-ever school uniform collection sold out in stores after just one week.
The launch of the new range, which will be in shops from July 20, prompted Aldi to cut the price of its school uniform package from £5 to £3.75 yesterday afternoon.

Its deal also includes two polo shirts, a round neck sweater and skirt or pair of trousers - making it the same price as Lidl.
The polo shirts are available in blue or white and the skirt comes in navy, black and grey. The trousers are only available in black.
Yesterday, The Sun Online put Aldi, Sainsbury's, Asda and Tesco's uniforms to the test.
We put the items through 40 washes - the average required each school term - to see which polo shirts, weathers and skirts looked like afterwards.
Tesco's clothing - which cost £9.50 in total - came top of our rankings, with Asda's £8.50 in second place.
This was followed by Sainsbury's £14.50 offering in third place, while Aldi came last in the test.
And while rival Morrisons wasn't tested it does offer a beefed up guarantee for shoppers.
Unhappy customers can return items from its children's range - for any reason, including rips, spills and outgrown clothing - with proof of purchase up to 200 days after they’ve bought it, as part of the supermarket’s “no quibble” guarantee.
