Tesco teams up with Uber so you can pay for your taxi ride using Clubcard points
TESCO has unveiled a series of improvements to its popular Clubcard loyalty scheme, including going contactless and adding Uber to its list of reward partners.
Uber and Hotels.com are joining the scheme, which already includes brands such as British Airways, Cineworld and Pizza Express.
This means customers will now be able to exchange points against journeys booked via the ride hailing app.
For every 50 clubcard points - equivalent to a £50 shop - customers can now receive £1.50 of Uber credit.
The changes also include the launch of a new contactless Clubcard, which enables customers to simply tap - in the same way as with a contactless payment card - to add their points.
It will also see what the retailer describes as significant improvement to the Tesco Clubcard app.
The updated cards will be rolled out from this week and customers can start using it immediately.
Shoppers currently earn one Clubcard point per £1 spent in stores or two points per £1 spent on Tesco Fuel.
