Morrisons launches enormous 1lb beefburger making it the meatiest on the market – and it’s got a tasty price tag too

MORRISONS has launched the "daddy of all burgers" in time for Father's Day - a one pound, 18cm, 100 per cent British beefburger, that costs just £3.
The wallet-friendly piece of meat is four times the size of an average quarter pounder, and Morrisons claims it is the UK’s biggest supermarket burger.
Freshly-made by butchers in-store, customers will have a limited time to grab this whopper, as it goes on sale tomorrow until Sunday.
While the burger costs £3, the accompanying bun will cost an additional 50p, and the lettuce, tomatoes, gherkins and cheese will need to be bought separately.
The beef itself is seasoned with paprika, sage and parsley, and for best results the grocer recommends cooking it on a very hot griddle pan, frying pan or BBQ to cook evenly for four minutes on each side.
Morrisons butchery expert Paul Robinson said: “All of our butchers will be making these mammoth burgers by hand.
"We think many dads will aim to eat the whole thing, but if their eyes are bigger than their belly, they can always share with their family.”

Aldi’s so-called “Big Daddy” extra thick 16oz/450g British Rump steak costs just £4.99.
The German budget chain claims the steak is 100g bigger and 39 per cent cheaper than the equivalent from its closest rival Tesco.
The new steaks will be available in Aldi stores across the UK from Thursday 15 June – but customers will have to quick as the retailer only has a limited supply available.
