BREW CAN DO IT!

Vote in the General Election and get a FREE beer from BrewDog

The company's founder says the free beer offer aims to encourage and reward those making their voices heard

CRAFT brewer BrewDog has come up with an alternative way to encourage a high voter turnout on Election Day.

The company, which owns 29 pubs across the UK, has announced that it will hand out a free beer to anyone who can prove they voted on Thursday 8 June.

To claim a free bottle of BrewDog’s Punk IPA, voters must take a picture of themselves outside their polling stations and show it to bar staff at any BrewDog bar.

The offer will even be extended to Friday, so voters can either celebrate or commiserate the results with a free drink.

James Watt, co-founder of BrewDog, said that with youth turnout expected to be low, the free beer offer aims to encourage and reward those making their voices heard.

He said: “Whatever your views, whatever your status, every vote was created equal. An election is a key moment for those that feel marginalised or under represented to stand up and be counted."

BrewDog has pubs across the country including in London, Brighton, Manchester and Glasgow. You can find your nearest branch .

The company was founded by two 24-year-old school friends in 2007 in Scotland.

It is now valued at more than £1billion after receiving an investment from an American private equity company in April.
