WE ALL know that house prices in London are sky-high, but seeing what £1million will buy you in the capital compared to other locations across the country will leave a bad taste in the mouth.
You could buy a 17-bed grade II listed former army barracks converted into 14 apartments in Manchester, or a small one-bed flat in London.
Below, we take a wider look at what £1million will buy you in the nation's capital, compared to what you could get in Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Bournemouth and Cornwall.

1. London: One-bed flat in Kensington
This one-bed flat in Kensington costs £980,000, but covers just 510 square feet.
The brand-new apartment comes with a double bedroom, en suite bathroom, open plane kitchen and living room, and a balcony.
The main selling point is the location, as the flat is situated just a few minute's walk away from West Kensington tube station.
Buyers will also get access to the building's communal cinema, swimming pool and sauna.

2. Manchester: Former army barracks conversion
