What are the perks of a Tesco Clubcard?

Tesco Clubcard owners will earn points on all spending in store, at Tesco fuel stations, or if they have a financial product with the supermarket, such as a credit card, debit card or mortgage.

The points are converted into money off vouchers you can use on your grocery shop and these are sent out in vouchers every three months.

Has Tesco changed its Clubcard point scheme?

Earlier this year, Tesco upset customers by announcing a revamp of the scheme.

Customers have been able to get four times the value of vouchers with partner firms like Pizza Express, Zizzi, Cafe Rouge and London Zoo but from now on it will be three times the value.

However, it has now been announced that shoppers can now turn their Clubcard points into vouchers within 24 hours of spending rather than having to wait three months.

Vouchers will appear in your account within 24 hours and you'll have 21 months to print them at home and use in-store or to scan them directly from your Clubcard app while shopping.

You can also spend Faster Vouchers online or swap them to spend on Tesco's reward partners as normal.

Tesco has yet to announce the exact date of when the scheme will be introduced but you can read up on the details here.

How can you boost your Tesco Clubcard points?

You can choose to spend your points in store, online or at the pump, or you can ‘boost’ your points by using them with a Tesco partner.

ODEON Cinema, Monarch airline, ASK Italian are among the companies that collaborate with the supermarket giant.

You can also get deals on fun days out, including Thorpe Park, Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Blenheim Palace.

Other exciting perks include swapping points for RHS membership, RAC breakdown cover and annual railcards.

If you choose to do this, your points will go further as you get up to three times the voucher value when spending the points with a Clubcard partner.

The supermarket has just announced this has been cut from up to four times the value - but it will still be worth taking advantage to save money.

Ricky Willis of , said: “Rewarding Tesco current account holders with even more Clubcard points will make a real difference to families up and down the country.

“When it comes to cashing in the Clubcard points, Tesco Bank customers can take even further advantage by redeeming them with Tesco Clubcard Partners.”

HOW TO RECLAIM LOST CLUBCARD POINTS

MOST people lose or forget their Tesco voucher but it's easy to claim back up to two years or unused vouchers.

The supermarket doesn't remind you of vouchers that you have leftover, so it's up to you to check.

Log into the Tesco Clubcard website and check for unspent vouchers.

You’ll see a tab saying "my vouchers" and this will list the ones you still have to spend.

You can print the vouchers to use them in store or note down the number and visit the Boost website to exchange them.

What can you spend your Tesco Clubcard points?

If you choose not to boost your Clubcard points, you can spend them at Tesco.

Customers have the option of using them at the pump, in store or online.

When doing an internet shop, simply input your voucher code to deduct money from your purchase.

It means that families had been able to get £10 to spend at certain restaurants and days out with a £2.50 Clubcard voucher.

Now it is £7.50.

At other partners it was two or three times the value - so with these firms customers will get more value or the same.

In an email to customers the supermarket said: "Previously your vouchers were worth two times their value with some of our Reward Partners – and others were worth four times.

"We’ve decided to make things easier.

"From today, you’ll get three times the value of your vouchers across the majority of our Reward Partners."
