Duty free favourites including gin and Toblerone are cheaper at supermarket and online than at airport, says watchdog
A giant Toblerone costs £4 at Bristol World Duty Free — but just £3 at Asda
AIRPORT “bargains” such as gin and Toblerone are likely to be cheaper at a supermarket, a consumer group has found.
A 360g bar of Toblerone cost £4 at Bristol World Duty Free but £3 at Asda, while an £18 70cl bottle of Tanqueray gin at Heathrow could be found for £15 at Morrisons, Which? Travel said.
A 100ml bottle of Eternity for Men Eau de Toilette is £25 on Amazon but £46 at Birmingham World Duty Free.
A SanDisk Extreme Plus 64GB camera memory card costs £73 more at Glasgow International than at Currys online.
And a Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon cost £20 less at Toys R Us online than at Gatwick South World Duty Free.

Some deals could be found at airport shops, like the iPad Mini 2 and the Fitbit Flex 2 both for £10 less at Dixons Travel at Glasgow International Airport than online at John Lewis.
But it said: “Always do your research before you head to the airport to make sure the ‘deal’ is not dearer than on the high street or online.”
