Vodafone honours website price glitch after bargain hunters snap up FREE Samsung virtual reality headsets worth £80

Instead of cancelling orders of those who spotted the bargain Vodafone has decided to honour them

VODAFONE has honoured a price glitch which allowed bargain hunters to snap up Samsung virtual reality headsets worth £80 without paying a penny.

The mobile firm’s website incorrectly listed the Samsung VR headset as free for a number of hours on Easter Sunday.

But instead of cancelling orders it has decided to honour shoppers who were lucky enough to spot it.

The error was picked up by a member of who posted it on the deal sharing website.

The gadget allows Samsung users to play virtual reality games on their phone.

One member contacted Vodafone who told them that it was a technical error and that the gadget was supposed to be free with an S7 or S8 handset.

Those who have received delivery of a headsets have shared pictures of their freebie on HotUKDeals.

Others have posted to say that they have received delivery confirmation emails.

The bad news is that anyone who ordered more than one headset will have their order cancelled.

A spokesperson from Vodafone said: “Due to a temporary glitch on our website on Easter Day, a Samsung VR headset was listed as free, rather than at its normal price, for a number of hours.

“We are making sure that everyone who ordered a headset during that time will get one for free.”

It’s very rare for a retailer to honour a price glitch.

Most firms try and weasel out of honouring an error due to a clause hidden in their T&C’s.

Earlier today, The Sun Online revealed how Littlewoods accidentally advertised sofas worth £1,300 for as little as £16.

The online catalogue retailer cancelled orders made by customers who took advantage of the low price error.
