Walkers teases return of popular crisps flavour after being axed from shelves

WALKERS has teased the return of a beloved fan-favourite flavour of crisps - igniting widespread excitement on social media.
Heartbroken fans took to social media two years ago after their treasured snack flavour was suddenly discontinued.
But Walkers’ X account has recently started replying to old posts of users mourning the loss of the popular crisp flavour, stirring up speculation that they could make a comeback.
In 2023, one user said in a post directed at Walkers: “You made a grave error dropping Worcester Sauce and I hope this hits your profits HARD.”
But just this week, the Walkers account has started to reply to these sorts of posts, telling fans to keep their eyes peeled and to check their DMs.
One fan who couldn't believe the news said: “They better not be playing with my heart like this, I lost a piece of my soul when they stopped production of those bad boys.”

The popular Walkers Worcester Sauce crisps with their iconic purple bag were axed in 2023, causing crisp connoisseurs across the country to cry out on social media in the months after.
In response to the devastating news, Walkers confirmed the end of the road for the flavour.
They said: "Hi, we're sorry but Worcester Sauce flavour is no longer part of our range."

Many fans paid tribute to the flavour that was popular among fans for going inside sandwiches.
One said: "Walkers Worcester Sauce were my favourite for years. Fondly remembered here."
Another said: "Aww no. Any chance they might come back at any time in the future?"
Walkers has a history of cancelling certain flavours before bringing them back.
In 2024, the crisp giant announced the return of another fan-favourite - BBQ Sauce.
The popular flavour was launched in the 1990s but was discontinued before making a heroic comeback.
Walkers has yet to confirm a return of the Worcester Sauce flavour.
Why are products axed or recipes changed?

ANALYSIS by chief consumer reporter James Flanders.
Food and drinks makers have been known to tweak their recipes or axe items altogether.
They often say that this is down to the changing tastes of customers.
There are several reasons why this could be done.
For example, government regulation, like the "sugar tax," forces firms to change their recipes.
Some manufacturers might choose to tweak ingredients to cut costs.
They may opt for a cheaper alternative, especially when costs are rising to keep prices stable.
For example, Tango Cherry disappeared from shelves in 2018.
It has recently returned after six years away but as a sugar-free version.
Fanta removed sweetener from its sugar-free alternative earlier this year.
Suntory tweaked the flavour of its flagship Lucozade Original and Orange energy drinks.
While the amount of sugar in every bottle remains unchanged, the supplier swapped out the sweetener aspartame for sucralose.
