Urgent recall of popular energy-saving gadget sold on Amazon, eBay and TikTok shop due to risk of fire and burns

A POPULAR energy-saving gadget sold on Amazon, eBay and TikTok shop has been recalled over fears it could cause serious burns.

The product is meant to keep consumers warm at night but worryingly, it's prone to overheating.

Anyone in possession of the Snuggla King Size Electric Blanket has been ordered to stop using it immediately as it poses a serious risk of fire and burns.

The blanket is described as a "white, king size electric under blanket with detachable remote control, packaged in a red and white cardboard box".

It does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 and the instructions supplied were deemed inadequate.

Plus, some of the required documentation and markings were not even present on the blanket.

It has been recalled from the importer but consumers should contact their place of purchase to seek redress.

The model is HT-65180-SN and it was recalled on February 17.

It comes after Matalan issued an Easter homeware recall over an eye injury risk.

The homeware and clothing store pulled its Bunny Tumbler cups from shelves as the product does not meet its standards for product safety.

Customers who bought a Bunny Tumbler are being urged to not use the product and return it to their nearest Matalan branch.

The cups were most recently available in stores from December 31 until January 17.

They feature rabbit ears and the way they are positioned on the cup could harm shoppers.

Customers with the product will receive a full refund don't need to bring a receipt.
