Fans are calling it "Aussie gold," giving Brits a chance to indulge in the much-hyped chocolate delight.

Tim Tam, Australia’s most famous chocolate biscuit, has been delighting sweet-toothed snackers since 1964.

Now, UK shoppers can get their hands on the latest edition, which boasts an extra layer of smooth milk chocolate for an even richer, more indulgent experience.

Talyah Falabella, Tim Tam’s International Marketing Manager, said: "For over 60 years, Tim Tam has been Australia’s favourite chocolaty biscuit.

"We’re excited to bring another irresistible addition to the UK, offering the ultimate indulgence for chocolate lovers."

And the timing couldn’t be better – for the first time, the UK is celebrating Tim Tam Day on February 16, alongside Australia.

The new Tim Tam Extra Chocolaty is available exclusively at Waitrose for an RRP of £2.50 per pack.

Originally inspired by Britain’s Penguin biscuits, Tim Tams are made with two chocolate biscuits sandwiched together with a smooth chocolate cream, all wrapped in a thick layer of chocolate.

Over the years, they’ve become a household staple in Australia, with fans calling them the ultimate tea-time treat.

UK shoppers have long hoped for Tim Tam’s arrival, and many have taken to social media to share their excitement.

"Finally! I've been waiting for these to hit the UK for ages!" one user wrote.

Another added, "If you haven’t tried a Tim Tam, you’re seriously missing out."

Three classic flavours, Original, Dark, and Chewy Caramel are also available at Waitrose and Ocado, with Arnott's confirming that more UK retailers will stock them soon.

Tim Tam isn’t the only Aussie snack making waves in the UK.

Last year, British shoppers went wild for a Cadbury selection box featuring Australian chocolate favourites, and B&M delighted snack lovers by stocking an exclusive Mocha Mudcake M&M flavour from Down Under.

Retro snacks have also made a comeback, with Aldi bringing back Elkes Sports Shortcake biscuits, and McVitie’s reintroducing its white chocolate biscuit after almost 20 years.
