Five ways to pay less for your feast this National Pizza Day
IT’S National Pizza Day – and there are lots of ways you can get a taste of the action.
There are plenty of deals to be snapped up, so you can tuck in for less dough.
NICE AND CHEESY: Bella Italia is celebrating National Pizza Day by giving away 1,500 free margheritas. From today until Tuesday, you can get the freebie when you buy another main meal.
Sign up at bellaitalia.co.uk to get a unique code. You can only claim one pizza per table.
EXPRESS OFFER: Head to Pizza Express today wearing a black- and-white stripy top to get a margherita for free.
You also have to show a National Pizza Day token, handed out by staff on a first come, first served basis — so hurry along before the freebies run out.

HOT DEAL: Fireaway Pizza is giving away 16,000 free margherita pizzas.
That means 100 diners will be in luck at each of its 160 branches.
To claim your free one, sign up online through Fireaway’s booking system at But once they are gone, that’s it.
BASKET BARGAINS: There are also some great supermarket offers. At Tesco and Sainsbury’s, you can use the stores’ different loyalty cards to get half-price Pizza Express dishes, down from £5.50 to £2.75.
Head to Asda for Goodfellas Stonebaked pizzas, down from £3 to £1.42. Morrisons has a Zizzi deal where you can get two pizzas, a side dish such as garlic bread and brownies or cheesecake for £10.
TOO GOOD TO WASTE: To get in on the Pizza Day action for less, food- waste group Too Good To Go has this three-ingredient pizza base recipe, using up yoghurt and other leftovers.
Mix 150g natural yoghurt with 150g self-raising flour and a pinch of salt to form a rough dough, then flatten into a pizza base.
Add toppings from whatever is in the fridge — leftover cooked meat, veggies, or a last piece of cheese. Bake at 220C for eight to ten minutes.
