‘Fab bargain’ cry shoppers as they pick up household essential scanning for £5 instead of £70 at Boots

A SAVVY shopper could not believe their luck after they picked up a pricey baby essential scanning for £5 instead of £70 at Boots.

But they can be quite pricey with the branded device costing upwards of £70 at some retailers.

One eagle-eye shopper could not believe their luck when they spotted the device at Boots marked down from £70 to just £5.

Writing in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook page they said: "Bargain I got today in sale £5 from nearly £70 [in] boots last one on shelf from where I am.

"Being there at the right time..beautiful best body temp thing had now my new toy."

Others were quick to chime in and praise the shopper on their find.

One said: "Wow it’s fab bargain."

Another added: "These are the ones that connect to your phone aren’t they! I’ve been looking at them, they look amazing."

While a third said: "Trust me theses are amazing."

The deal does not seem to be available on Boots online, so if you are keen to check out the bargain you may to visit a physical store.

Other retailers are also offering deals on the device.

For example, Midmeds is selling the thermometer for £31.49 marked down from £44.

Pharamacy2U is also selling the device for £40 marked down from £70.

It's not the first time that Boots has offered a sale on pricey items.

The pharmacy and makeup retailer launched a winter clearance sale in-store with shoppers bagging huge discounts worth up to 70%.

Boots launched the sale this week, with discounts increasing from 50% to 70%.

Shoppers can pick up a No7 Lip Gloss bundle pack for £6 instead of £20 a Ted Baker Nail Polish Duo for £2.40 instead of £8 and more.

One shopper found Soap and Glory health packs for £6 (down from £20) and £3 (down from £10).

Plus one savvy saver found an English Tea Shop Christmas advent calendar for £3.90 down from £13.

Other customers spotted Disney bath fizzler kits for £2.40 instead of £8 and Disney towels for £4.50 instead of £15.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use  and  are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone.  app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.
