JOE Wicks has attempted a "big shop" - on roller skates, at the world’s first supermarket-themed roller disco.

The fitness guru and Asda ambassador was unveiling a two-day transformation of Margate’s Dreamland roller room into a grocery store.

The art-deco space was transformed to resemble an Asda supermarket, complete with aisles and shelves stacked with boxes representing reduced products.

Wicks was pictured pirouetting with a shopping basket in hand and perusing the chilled and cupboard sections.

In a Supermarket Sweep-style event, the roller room will open its doors to participants on February 7 and 8 where they’ll be able to skate and win prizes by swooping round the expansive rink, by scooping up groceries against the clock.

During each 45-minute session, skaters will be provided with wheels, a basket and a shopping list before being challenged to grab the bargains.

Those successful in collecting everything on their list will have the chance to win hundreds of pounds worth of vouchers, with some winning spot prizes worth up to £50.

The event was created by Asda as it announced the return of its Rollback proposition, which sees the prices of more than 4,000 family-favourite products reduced by an average discount of 25 per cent in-store and online.

Joe Wicks said: “I’m so excited to don a pair of skates and take to the rink at Dreamland this weekend.

“As a father of four, supporting families to be able to access and cook low-cost, simple meals is hugely important to me.
