SHOPPERS looking for a new festive twist on boring condiments can look no further than Lidl.
The discount German retailer is offering customers an unusual pair of sauces for the festive period.
Both jars are inspired by a popular festive drink and a common Christmas dinner accompaniment.
A shopper posted the products on the Food Finds UK Official Facebook page.
For £1.49 each, Lidl customers can buy the Lidl Deluxe Mulled Wine Ketchup and the Deluxe Cranberry Ketchup.
A number of users tagged their friends and loved ones in the post about the unusual limited-edition products.
One said, “This looks very interesting.”
Another called them “something to try.”
But not everyone is convinced by the unusual ketchup flavours.
“People will literally buy anything these days,” one shocked customer said.
“Can’t imagine either of those being nice,” another bluntly wrote.
The condiments are not the only festive items Lidl is offering for a bargain price.
Shoppers are rushing to the bakery section to get their hands on a Christmas sweet treat.
The retailer is selling individual chocolate yule logs topped with chocolate flakes for just 99p each.
Some lucky shoppers with a Lidl Plus card and bakery coupons could even get it for free.
The chocolate sponge logs, which have a chocolate sauce centre, are dusted with sugar and topped with a mini chocolate flake.
According to delighted shoppers, they do not disappoint.
On Facebook, one wrote: “These are the best yule logs I have ever had.
“Add some extra thick double cream absolutely amazing. All the family loved these.”
For those who want more of a Christmas centrepiece, the retailer is also selling a new festive dessert which has only hit shelves over the past few days.
Lidl’s Deluxe Christmas Express dessert is a new take on the traditional yule log but it is in the shape of a steam train.
The green and gold dessert is made out of Belgian chocolate which is filled with chocolate mousse and salted caramel.
It has a brownie base and the train’s steam is made from marshmallows.
The indulgent pudding is £9.99 or can be bought for just £6.99 with a Lidl Plus card and serves eight people.
