One 5ft-wide room acts as the bedroom, kitchen and living area.

A small bathroom sits across the “hallway”.

But the owner admits it can only be called a hallway when you “stretch the definition of a hallway to its absolute limits”.

The main selling point is the property’s prime location in South Kensington, central London.

The flat is only a short walk from the Natural History Museum and the V&A, and less than 10 minutes from both Gloucester Road and South Kensington tube stations.

Builder Nick Minns, 53, is selling the flat, in a Grade II-listed building, on behalf of his mother.

He said: “It’s a great price for the location.

“It will be perfect for someone who perhaps works in the city a couple days a week and wants a place to stay for a couple nights before heading back to their countryside home.”

"Equally, if there's someone who wants to be in central London - but doesn't want to spend a fortune - this is a good fit."

Mr Minns added: "As well as being a great location, it's also quite a swanky place. There's a posh lobby - it's got a grand exterior.

"I lived in it for six months and it was great - made more liveable when we made the mezzanine floor for the bed.

"So as long as you're not claustrophobic - and preferably not 6ft5 - it's really quite a sweet spot."
