Advertised on Lidl's website as the Silentnight Luxury Heated Throw, the electric blanket is made out of a warm fleece material.

It has nine settings, "ultra fast heat up" technology and "overheat safety protection" - an important function for those wanting to use the product while they sleep.

This means the blanket, which also has a three-year warranty, can regulate its own temperature and will shut itself off if things get too hot.

And, the throw's normal £45 price tag will be slashed to £24.99 on Sunday November 24 as part of the supermarket giant's huge Black Friday sale.

But shoppers will need to be quick if they want to bag the bargain, as it will only be available in stores for a limited time in stores.

Black Friday is an annual shopping day on which retailers offer deals across tech, beauty, fashion, broadband and home.

It always falls on the Friday after Thanksgiving in the US, but sales often drop a week or so early.

How much does it cost compared to heating?

The throw could be a perfect solution for households worrying about energy bills this winter.

These are now set to rise by 1% to £1,736, according to Cornwall Insight.

Items to always buy at Lidl

And Labour's decision to means-test Winter Fuel Payments will leave many homes without financial support amid rising costs - although some may qualify for a £300 cash boost through the Household Support Fund.

Luckily, the electric blanket costs just 3p to run per hour, using 100W of energy.

This is much cheaper than heating your house, which could cost around 6.4p per kW/hr for gas or 24.5p per kW/hr for electricity.

How does it compare to other electric blankets?

Lidl's comforting throw is even cheaper than Aldi's version, which retails for £29.99.

Aldi's Ambiano Heated Throw, which has nine settings, comes in a snowy white, cool grey, and toasty charcoal.

It is also cheaper's than Asda's £30 electric teddy fleece.

How to compare prices to get the best deal

JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn't mean it's always a good deal.

There are plenty of comparison websites out there that'll check prices for you - so don't be left paying more than you have to.

Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.

Here are some that we recommend:

  • Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
  • Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
  •  is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
  • only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.
