Iceland is selling a cheese and chocolate hybrid Easter egg and we’re not sure if it’s eggsellent or not
The hybrid egg is made up of Wensleydale cheese and raspberry and white chocolate curls
ICELAND is giving cheese and chocolate lovers the chance to have the best of both worlds with its new "Cheaster Egg".
The hybrid egg is the "ultimate sweet yet savoury Easter egg" treat, made up of Wensleydale cheese and raspberry and white chocolate curls.
It has been launched following a Facebook competition that gave Iceland customers the chance to cast a final vote on whether the frozen supermarket chain should sell a cheddar and white chocolate Cheaster Egg, or a Wensleydale, raspberry and white chocolate Cheaster Egg.
Customers ultimately voted for the Wensleydale version, which is available to buy now for just £3 and weighs 300g.
Surprisingly, it isn't the only cheese Easter egg on offer this year, as a "Cheester egg" was launched earlier this week, made up entirely of Napier cheese, a popular hard cheese which won the title of “London’s Favourite Cheese” in 2015.

The hand-made, first-of-its-kind egg costs £14.95 for around 260g and can be bought online.
Food blogger Annem Hobson of partnered with an independent artisan cheese company called Wildes Cheese to create the egg.
She said: “Chocolate is okay, but it’s a little boring and frankly I’m sick of seeing it dominating key retail periods.
“Cheese is what excites me so I’m thrilled my plans for a Cheester Egg have finally hatched. There’s a whole army of cheese lovers out there showing me their support.”
