Primark is giving out free Christmas item that can save you cash
PRIMARK is offering shoppers a genius Christmas item that can help save money ahead of the big day.
The discount chain has reintroduced its popular wrapping paper shopping bags for the festive season.
The Christmas additions have been a staple for Primark shoppers for the last few years and are now available in all 191 shops.
The retailer's paper bags are decorated with a simple red stripe, which means customers can cut out the bags when they're done and use them as wrapping paper.
The bags can be used in several ways, with Primark recommending creating your own crackers and even stocking designs.
All you need to do is cut off the handles and the bottom of the bag and lay the striped paper flat before arranging it how you please.

It comes after The Sun was first to reveal their return.
A Primark spokesperson said last month: "We're delighted to confirm that our iconic Primark paper bags have once again been transformed into wrapping paper this Christmas.
"The brown and red festive striped bags feature handy cutting lines with easy-to-follow instructions for shoppers."
Wrapping paper can be pretty expensive and harmful to the environment, especially if you're wrapping for a big family.

Primark says that the nifty bags are a "win-win" for shoppers who can save money too.
The spokesperson added: "As well as being easily recycled after the big day, customers can save money on purchasing extra wrapping – a win-win.”
Fans have previously described the handy paper bags as "genius" and "brilliant" in the past.
Last year one fan posted: "These Primark bags are ace, I just made wrapping paper, eight tags and four paper chains…I need to get my hands on more of these bags."
Another said: "I had bought the Primark striped wrapping paper for my girls… ran out just before the last gift - bag came in super handy then."
A third commented: "Blooming tremendous. I’m doing all my Xmas shopping in Primark. Well done Primark."
When the bags first came out in 2020 another shopper said: "You may know I'm not a huge fan of fast fashion… But this is kinda genius.
Primark's paper bags are now printed with wrapping paper that is also recyclable.
"Just cut the wrapping paper section out and wrap your gift!"
Others have expressed concern that the bags don't last until you get home due to their material.
One said: "I have never ever had a Primark bag make it home in one piece ever!"
Another posted: "If only the bags would last from the till to the shop exit."
While a third commented: "Mine never make it make it to the car in one piece never mind home."
How to save money on Christmas shopping
Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save money on your Christmas shopping.
Limit the amount of presents - buying presents for all your family and friends can cost a bomb.
Instead, why not organise a Secret Santa between your inner circles so you're not having to buy multiple presents.
Plan ahead - if you've got the stamina and budget, it's worth buying your Christmas presents for the following year in the January sales.
Make sure you shop around for the best deals by using price comparison sites so you're not forking out more than you should though.
Buy in Boxing Day sales - some retailers start their main Christmas sales early so you can actually snap up a bargain before December 25.
Delivery may cost you a bit more, but it can be worth it if the savings are decent.
Shop via outlet stores - you can save loads of money shopping via outlet stores like Amazon Warehouse or Office Offcuts.
They work by selling returned or slightly damaged products at a discounted rate, but usually any wear and tear is minor.
