Check out these 10 converted buildings, some of which are hundreds of years old, which have been transformed into unique and quirky properties.
1) Above the law
This 120-year-old courthouse and Grade-II listed property is now an eight-bedroom family home.
The house in Caernarfon, Wales, originally served as the town’s county hall before becoming a magistrates' court in 1953.
2) Fire in the house
This 'hot property', in Billinghay, Lincolnshire, is a former fire house - and it's even got its original red front door and alarm bell.
The open-plan bungalow has two bathrooms, and a decked front yard.
3) Towering above the rest
This Napoleonic bunker lay derelict for 150 years, before being converted into a luxury holiday home - complete with a roof terrace.
The 30ft minature fort, overlooking Suffolk's shoreline, was built in 1808.
4) Plucking stunning
This abandoned hen house, in the Wye Valley at Trellech, south Wales, has been converted into a luxury holiday home.
Developers saw the cracking potential of the chicken shed, which has stood overlooking the Black Mountains for decades, and gave it floor-to-ceiling windows and Scandinavian-style wooden features.
5) Fit for a king
The owner of this spectacular Anglo-Norman medieval property must feel like king of the castle.
Turin Castle, in Kilmaine, County Mayo, Ireland, dates back to the 13th century - and lay empty for 200 years before being converted into a five-bedroom wedding venue.
6) A former train wreck
This ornate building, from the 19th century, was once the personal train station of the Prince of Wales.
Petwork Railway Station was built in 1892 for the future King Edward VII’s weekend jaunts to the races - and is now a luxury 11-room bed and breakfast.
7) Cast in concrete
This jaw-dropping house was once a World War One-era concrete factory - and is now an architect's dream home.
Converting the enormous concrete structure, near Barcelona, was a 45-year project for Ricardo Bofill - who has added lush vegetation to transform the shell.
8) Safe as houses
This mansion in Chislehurst, Kent, is designed to withstand anything - because it used to be a nuclear bunker.
The 1951 property, which was used as a secret hideout for government officials in the Cold War, even has a swimming pool in the centre of the house.
9) Manning the fort
Security definitely isn't a problem in this 160-year-old former fort, built to defend the Isle of Wight from the threat of the French Navy.
It is now a beautiful eight-bedroom home perched on a cliff, with one of the UK’s best coastal views.
