Walkers launches brand new crisp flavour after years of demands from fans
WALKERS has launched a brand new crisp flavour after years of demand from fans.
From today foodies will be able to pick up the tasty snacks from Tesco supermarkets nationwide.
The snack giant is introducing Smokin' BBQ Sauce to its classic Walkers range.
This will join fan favourites such as Cheese and Onion, Ready Salted and Salt and Vinegar.
It will come as welcome news to those fans who are still mourning the loss of the discontinued BBQ Ribs crisps.
Since the axing of the meaty crisps, they've been calling out for the flavour to be reinstated.

One Instagram user said: "Just bring back BBQ… the UK needs a good start to 2024."
Another said: "I really need to know if they taste like the discontinued BBQ Ribs."
Foodies' prayers have now been answered in part as the new smoky addition is now available in single packs, multipacks and grab bags from today.
Walkers says the new snack is made using 100% Great British potatoes and features a smoky BBQ sauce flavour.
Shoppers can grab a six-pack in Tesco supermarkets nationwide and the flavour will be later available in Sainsbury's from September 2 and Morrisons in October.
A single-serve bag will retail at £1.25, a Grab bag at £1 and a Multipack at £2.
Stephanie Herbert, marketing senior brand manager from Walkers said: "For years Walkers fans have been calling out for a BBQ flavour to join our core range.
"We’ve heard those calls loud & clear so we can’t wait for crisp lovers nationwide to try out the brand-new Walkers Smokin’ BBQ Sauce flavour!"
It's been a jam-packed few weeks for Walkers fans as the snacking giant has brought out several new flavours recently too.
It launched three new flavours of crisps inspired by classic Heinz sauces.
There are three new flavours to choose from including Sausage Sarnie which is combined with Heinz Tomato Ketchup.
This is a fresh take on the already available Tomato Ketchup crisps.
Another new addition is Cheese Toastie with classic Heinz Beanz flavour.
The third flavour is a twist on the classic Roast Chicken but combined with Heinz Mayonnaise.
Those looking to get their hands on this limited-edition range will need to be quick though.
The Walkers and Heinz flavours won’t be around for long.
Walkers has confirmed that the snacks will only be on shelves until October.
All three flavours are now available in supermarkets in both 45g grab bags for £1 each and multipacks of five 25g bags for £1.65.
Other Walkers launches
The new BBQ sauce crisps aren't the only Walkers launch to hit in recent months.
Last month it launched three new crisp flavours alongside a big recipe change.
Two new Wotsits flavours and a new Monster Munch offering have been launched, all made with chickpeas.
Crisp lovers can grab bags of cheese toastie flavour Wotsits, crispy bacon flavour Wotsits and BBQ sauce flavour Monster Munch.
The chickpea-based snacks are all less than 100 calories a bag and contain 25% less salt than their counterparts made out of corn, rather than potatoes like most crisps.
Back in March shoppers were racing to get their hands on the Extra Flamin Hot Doritos, Walkers MAX and Wotsits Crunchy range.
The three flavours were rolled out in stores from March 12 and all 130g sharing bags have been set at a retail price of £2.50 though some prices may vary from store to store.
Earlier this year Walkers unveiled its mature cheddar and chilli chutney-flavoured Sensations - a reimagined twist on their fan-favourite cheese and onion-flavoured crisps.
It hit the shelves with a bougie crushed sea salt and black peppercorn flavour that fans were wild for.
In January Walkers released three new vegan limited edition flavours in time for Veganuary.
The flavours were as meaty and cheesy as their traditional Walkers counterparts but without any real meat or cheese included in the recipes.
But unfortunately as new flavours launch, many have been discontinued for good - much to the heartbreak of fans.
Most recently, the crisp giant revealed that Mild Cheese Wotsits are no longer available in the UK.
This isn't the first time that Walkers' fans have expressed upset over a flavour being discontinued.
Walkers Stax are now no longer available in the UK.

It also confirmed that their Sensations Streetmix range had been axed.
The Streetmix brand included flavours based on cities, such as Bangkok, Mumbai and Mexico City.
Full list of Walkers crisp flavours discontinued
We have put together a list of all of the popular crisp flavours that Walker have axed in recent months.
- Worcester Sauce - Last year there was uproar on social media after Walkers confirmed it had stopped making the popular Worcester Sauce flavour.
- Max Fiercely Flamin Hot - This flavour was launched in 2021 to attract a younger audience. Fans of this flavour were left devastated in November 2023 when the crisps were pulled off the shelves for good.
- Beef and Onion - Snack fans were shocked when the beef and onion flavour was nowhere to be seen in supermarkets. The much-loved flavour was discontinued in 2022 but fans only found out last year.
- Sizzling Steak Wotsits - The retro flavour was previously sold as BBQ beef but was pulled from shelves in the early 2000s. It briefly returned to the stores in January 2020 due to popular demand but was gone for good shortly after.
- Peking Spare Rib oriental crackers - Walkers confirmed in November last year that it has discontinued yet another crisp flavour which was inspired by flavours from around the world.
- Salt and Vinegar Quavers - This flavour was first introduced back in 1993 and returned to the line-up in 2021 along with prawn cocktail Quavers after demands from crisp lovers. But sadly the crisp has gone once again.
- Sensational Regal Lamb and Mint - The popular flavour was only available for a specific occasion - the King's Coronation.
- Marmite - This controversial flavour has been on the shelves for over 20 years but was discontinued at the end of 2023. But it looks like Marmite are picking up the baton as it recently announced it would start producing its own brand of crisps.
- Tear 'n' Share crisps - Walkers confirmed it had discontinued its Tear 'n' Share crisps back in January. The crisps are thicker-cut crisps that come in a distinct bag that turns into an easy-to-share bowl. Walkers confirmed these have been discontinued for several years.
- Smiths Cheese Moments - Dubbed by the fans as "the most underrated crisps ever", this snack was generally sold in pubs. It has even been called "king of all crisps" but sadly was discontinued forever.
- Beetroot and Sweet Chilli Jam - Fans learned in March that Walkers has stopped making the Beetroot and Sweet Chilli Jam in its oven-baked range. The flavour came into the scene in 2019 and was made with real vegetables.
