Fans are already stockpiling the treat for Christmas

While a rare find, the rich snack has made an appearance on supermarket shelves before.

However, some shoppers are only discovering the item for the first time now.

One fan commented: "At last...chocolate heaven now".

While another fan said: "Loved those, been looking for them since they were last out!"

"Christmas treat right there", a third commented.

"Omg. My favourite combination", added a fourth.

The treat comes with a dark chocolate exterior and a creamy mint centre.

The supermarket frequently sells mint chocolate truffles and dark chocolate truffles, so it is a chance for customers to try the flavours combined.

You will have to pay £5 in Tesco to get hold of the item.

It comes after another ultra-rare Lindt chocolate flavour hit B&M stores in June.

A photo of Lindt Lindor's Pistachio Chocolates was posted to the Newfoodsuk Facebook group with thousands of excited shoppers leaving comments.

One shopper dubbed the pistachio chocolates as "Best flavour ever. Should be permanent in the line-up."

These treats were available in B&M stores for £6.30 or for £5 with a Clubcard.

If you become a member of the MyLindt Rewards scheme, you can enjoy a bunch of great deals, including a welcome offer of 10 per cent off your first purchase as a member.

Plus, MyLindt Rewards members can also get free chocolate on one special day of the year - your birthday.

As the Lindt rewards website reads: "Enjoy a sweet treat on us, in celebration of your special day! We'll send you a voucher to redeem in Lindt Chocolate Shops or our eShop."

Despite it only being August, Christmas chocolates have been spotted in shelves.

How to save money on chocolate

WE all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs...

Go own brand - if you're not too fussed on flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you'll save by going for supermarket's own brand bars.

Shop around - if you've spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it's cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you're getting the best deal.

Look out for yellow stickers - supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they've been reduced.

They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.

Buy bigger bars - most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.

So if you've got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.

B&M is stocking up tubs and tin cans of the Quality Street at competitive prices.

The bargain chain is selling the 813g box Nestle Quality Street for just £5.

Tesco is also offering a 600g tub of Quality Street for £5.40 with a Clubcard, down from its usual price of £6.

Elsewhere, Cadbury Puds have been spotted back on the shelves at  Asda

The chocolate, which has a truffle centre, hazelnut pieces and crunchy puffed rice pieces, costs 60p per piece at the supermarket

It is also sold as a multi-pack with five puds in it, priced at £2.

They are also in stock at Tesco and on the official Cadbury website, where they cost 75p each - 15p more than at Asda.

Shoppers have also found Mint Maltesers Reindeers on sale at Asda, as the supermarket appears to be getting a head start on selling its Christmas stock.

How to shop for bargains

When hunting for a deal it is important to shop around to make sure you are not being over charged.

There are plenty of comparison websites out there that'll check prices for you - so don't be left paying more than you have to.

Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.

For example, Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.

Price Spy also logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets.
