CARAVANS will be out in force over the May bank holiday weekend.
But if you are planning to take to the road, make sure your rig is ready go to.
Here are some steers . . .
WASH AND GO: Check you are not prohibited from washing your caravan on your drive or where you are parked, as you want to keep any chemicals from ruining wildlife.
Clean from the top down, so you don’t ruin any hard work as you go.
CLEAN SAVING: Repurpose household items when cleaning your caravan.

Old toothbrushes are excellent for getting into tight spaces, and disused towels can be cut up to be used as rags.
A soft-bristled broom can be great for reaching the roof, while microfibre cloths make most surfaces sparkle.
Get the eight-pack of AIDEA microfibre cloths reduced from £7 to £4.99 at amazon.co.uk.
BRUSH UP: For the exterior, a simple wash with water and a soft-bristle brush can lift surface grime.

You can also use a little washing-up liquid and water but a special caravan cleaner will ensure you don’t damage the paintwork with abrasive chemicals.
At Halfords.com, spend £30 on motoring products, including Fenwick’s caravan cleaner, £9.49, and save ten per cent.
WIPE DOWN: Focus your efforts on areas that accumulate the most dirt and grime, such as floors and countertops.
DIY mixtures such as vinegar and water will work wonders on windows and mirrors, while baking soda and water will lift sticky food stains.
WINDOW WIPERS: Meshed window screens can be tough to clean, but use a small, hard-bristled brush to remove dust and dirt.
Then wipe over with a damp microfibre cloth to finish.
IT MAKES SCENTS: Keep your caravan smelling fresh without forking out for air fresheners.
A few drops of essential oil in bowls of baking soda, in small containers placed on surfaces throughout your caravan, should keep musty scents at bay.
