A review by the Mirror found the three top mains and sides to be:

  • Hunters British Chicken Breast with Cheddar Melt and Fresh Potato Wedges.
  • Scottish Salmon with Cajun Style Sauce and Carrot and Red Onion Roasting Tray.
  • The Seabass Fillets with Chilli and Lime Butter and Fresh Wedges.

The deal has racked up comments from keen shoppers on M&S' social media.

One user simply said: "The chicken deal again" accompanied by a heart emoticon, while another said: "We need";.

The posh supermarket has run similar deals in recent weeks, including a steak and chips meal deal for two for £10.

But M&S isn't the only supermarket selling dine-in meal deals.

Tesco's finest dinner for two offers shoppers one main, one side, one desert and one drink, including a bottle of wine.

The deal is available for Clubcard holders at £12 - slightly more expensive than M&S' deal but you do get a drink included.

This could include a bottle of wine worth £7.50 or a six-pack of Coca-Cola Zero worth £4.20.

Outside of the deal, the most expensive deal combination at Tesco comes to £19.35.

This means the deal could save shoppers up to £7.35 and it is available until June 6.

Asda also offers a similar deal for £12, which includes one main, a side, a dessert and a drink.

Asda's most expensive meal combination comes to £16 - saving shoppers £4.

How to save on your supermarket shop

THERE are plenty of ways to save on your grocery shop.

You can look out for yellow or red stickers on products, which show when they've been reduced.

If the food is fresh, you'll have to eat it quickly or freeze it for another time.

Making a list should also save you money, as you'll be less likely to make any rash purchases when you get to the supermarket.

Going own brand can be one easy way to save hundreds of pounds a year on your food bills too.

This means ditching "finest" or "luxury" products and instead going for "own" or value" type of lines.

Plenty of supermarkets run wonky veg and fruit schemes where you can get cheap prices if they're misshapen or imperfect.

For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering boxes of 5kg of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.

If you're on a low income and a parent, you may be able to get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers to use at the supermarket too.

Plus, many councils offer supermarket vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund.
