‘It’s the best thing they EVER made’ fans say as they beg Rowntree’s to bring back discontinued chocolate bar for Easter

Another Easter favourite will no longer feature on supermarket shelves

BRITS have begged Rowntree's to begin restocking a beloved chocolate bar in time for the Easter weekend.

Sweet-toothed revellers launched a petition back in 2017 to nudge the confectionary giant to bring back the vintage Secret chocolate bar.

has received over 3000 of its targeted 5000 signatures.

The bar consisted of a bird's nest-style chocolate coating with a creamy mousse centre, and was similar to the filling of a Walnut Whip, which you can still find on the shelves of some shops today.

But sadly, Rowntree's axed the mouth-watering treat in 2003.

You may also remember the 90s advert for the bar which saw a lady riding a train when a man rushes into her cabin, hands her a Secret bar, and tells her to "guard this with your life".

Once he leaves, the woman can't resist the temptation to eat the delicious chocolate treat, leading to the slogan of the advert - "You can't trust anyone to keep a Secret".

Chocolate lovers flocked to X, formerly Twitter, to pay tribute to the snack.

"Rowntree's Secret was an utterly banging confection," one user wrote.

A second weighed in: "Hey Rowntree's, any chance you can bring the Secret chocolate bar back?

Although there are plenty of places you can get Mini Eggs the year the 38g Mini Egg Carton will not be returning this Easter.

Chocolate fans have been taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their devastation at the news.

One user said: “Omg I need to stock up.”

Another said: “I can feel my heartbeat in my ears my vision is slowly caving in,” said a second user.

You can still find traditional Mini Eggs in most supermarkets you will just need to buy them in a different size and packaging.

Most retailers sell Mini Eggs in 80g bags which are usually around £1.50.

There is a chance you might be able to get them for a little cheaper leading up to the bank holiday or even after.

For example, Tesco was stocking them for just £1.20 if customers use a Clubcard but it looks like these are now all sold out.

With Easter just days away chocolate fans are still getting over the last Cadbury that was discontinued which was the Cadbury Caramel bunny.

The chocolates were made with smooth milk chocolate formed in the shape of an adorable bunny and filled with soft caramel.

The Caramel bunny served as the mascot of Cadbury's Caramel in the 1980s and 1990s but now they are gone for good.

The chocolatiers recently announced the Cadbury Dairy Milk Toffee Popcorn bar won't be coming back.
