A POSH restaurant is flogging caviar on Deliveroo for £1,600 — but punters are still charged £3 for delivery.

The fish egg delicacy — from upmarket sarnie shop Le Deli Robuchon — was named as the most expensive item for sale on the bike delivery app.

The Beluga Royale caviar, from exclusive supplier Azure, is described as having a “rich, buttery scent with a slight hint of the sea”.

Le Deli in Chelsea, West London, offers 30 grams of fish eggs for £195 but the largest tin of caviar — 250 grams — sets customers back £1,625.

But all orders still incur a £2.49 service fee and 50p delivery charge, as set by the delivery app.

Caviar is sold through the chain’s Deliveroo page under a partnership between the popular deli and Azure.

Le Deli Robuchon staffer Christophe Gelpi told The Sun: “This caviar is some of the best in the world.

“It’s matured for 15 to 20 years, which means the eggs are bigger and the flavour is very creamy.

“It’s quite popular. If we sell two or three tins a week it’s popular because of how expensive it is.

"We get a lot of orders for it for special occasions like Easter and Christmas.”
