This is because shops in England and Wales larger than 280 square metres have to close on Easter Sunday and Christmas Day, under Government rules.

Sundays trading laws stipulate that any stores that choose to remain open can only do so for six consecutive hours between 10am and 6pm.

Tesco stores in Scotland will open on Sunday from 8am to 8pm.

Most Tesco Express stores will remain open on Sunday, with all shops returning to normal trading hours on Monday.

On Good Friday, many of its stores will be open as usual but those that are normally open late will close earlier at 10pm.

These aren't guaranteed opening hours and will vary depending on the shop.

Shoppers are therefore advised to check their local store opening times on the Tesco store locator.

You can find the locator by typing "Tesco store locator" into Google.

You then have to type in your town or postcode and it will draw up your closest store.
