MCDONALD'S fans are only just realising the chain is bringing back a popular game within days - and it's not Monopoly.

The fast food giant is giving customers the chance to win festival tickets, cash prizes and more from March 13.

But to the surprise of many Maccies regulars, the giveaways aren't part of its Monopoly promotion.

McDonald's is giving its fans the chance win a host of prizes through its Winning Sips competition, which returns for a second year.

All you need to do to be in with a chance of winning is purchase a medium or large soft drink.

The competition is different to the McDonald's Monopoly game, which runs every year for six weeks in the autumn.

Fans have taken to social media to react to the news that Winning Sips is returning.

One Facebook user said: "Not heard of this game before but hopefully have more chance of winning something than with their monopoly."

Another asked: "I'm confused. Is this Monopoly or something different?"

While a third tagged their friend and said: "Is it Monopoly again?"

There are millions of prizes up for grabs through Winning Sips, including McDonald's menu favourites, festival tickets, McDonald's merch and cash prizes - including a guaranteed £10,00 each week.

To find out if you are a winner simply purchase any medium or large soft drink and peel the sticker on the cup to reveal an Instant Win prize or App Play game piece.

If you peel to reveal an App Play game piece, this means you can scan the code in McDonald's App for another chance to win.

This year there is a new element to the game where players can score a huge 1,500 My McDonald's Rewards points when they peel and play seven times in the McDonald's App with Bonus Sip.

This means that customers will have enough for a free medium cold drink and another chance to win big.

App Play is available on the McDonald's App and customers can take part by downloading via Google Play or the Apple App Store.

The Winning Sips promotion was first launched in March 2023, ahead of the yearly return of its popular McDonald's Monopoly game.

McDonald's Monopoly is another popular promotion that has been around since 2005 and works in a similar way to the classic board game.

Customers collect game pieces when they buy specific McDonald's products, such as colour coordinated road names or train stations.
