Four toiletry tricks so you can save money by getting the most out of your products
GET full value out of your lotions and potions by using every last drop.
We all have shelves stacked with creams and gels and, like everything else, prices have been going up.
So make sure you get your money’s worth with these toiletry tricks . . .
PUMP IT UP: Using a pump for your shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, instead of pouring it into your hand, will lead you to use less each time.
Keep used packaging with pumps and fill them up with refill pouches, which usually work out cheaper — though check and compare the price per 100g to make sure.
LITTLE SQUIRTS: Read the product information to find out how much the manufacturers recommend you use per go.

It may just be a 5p-size dollop, so don’t use any more than that.
Make sure children know how much to use as well.
Little squirts often use big squirts of shampoo and bubble bath, wasting your money and overloading their hair or body with the product.
CUT COSTS: Unless they have a pump, toiletries are generally best stored upside down, so none of the lotion gets stuck at the end of corners.

Keep a pair of scissors handy in the bathroom for cutting the end off toothpaste or other tubes to make sure you’ve used every last bit.
FIND THE LAST DROP: Don’t reach for a new moisturiser or conditioner before completely finishing the old one.
Often we can’t resist that shiny new packaging and dump used products before they’re finished, but make sure you use every last drop.
To make shampoos or shower gels stretch further, you can dilute with a dash of water.
This helps ensure you use right to the end of the bottle.
