SHOPPERS have been left devastated after learning an iconic chocolate bar will not be included in Mars’ Easter lineup this year.
It looks like fans will not be able to get their hands on a Bounty dark chocolate bar which usually comes in the Easter Bounty chocolate egg box.
A Bounty chocolate egg box usually holds a hollow milk chocolate egg speckled with desiccated coconut and two fun-size Bounty bars, one of which used to be a dark chocolate Bounty bar.
This year a smaller 207g chocolate box will hold a hollow milk chocolate egg and two milk chocolate fun-size Bounty bars instead.
Fans were heartbroken last year when they learned that the iconic chocolate bar was being discontinued.
At the time Mars said the bar had been temporarily discontinued but the fan favourite has not been seen on shop shelves since.
The decision sparked widespread public outrage with people venting on social media.
One X, formerly known as Twitter, user said: “Horrible news this afternoon.”
Another said: “I’m actually devastated by the news that Mars has discontinued Dark Chocolate Bounty permanently!”
“The dark chocolate one is far superior to the regular one.”

Piers Morgan was amongst fans who took to social media calling Mars to change its decision.
He said: "I've just been told my favourite dark chocolate red wrapper Bounty bars have been discontinued, and this is the last one left in my dressing room stockpile."
"I'm outraged. This will cause immeasurable harm to my mental health. Please reconsider."
Since the announcement fans have been scouring shop shelves to see if they could get their hand on the iconic bar.
One X user asked: “Why can’t I find bounty chocolate bars in the UK?”
A Mars Wrigley UK Spokesperson told The Sun: “It’s true, Bounty Dark has temporarily been delisted, but there’s still lots for our Bounty fans to love in this year’s Easter lineup.”
“Our classic Milk Bounty treats are here to stay… but true fans better be quick to get their coconut fix when a CELEBRATIONS Easter Mix is opened!”
Mars has not yet confirmed if or when the dark chocolate bar could make a comeback.
You can find the latest version of the Bounty Coconut Milk Chocolate Easter Egg in most supermarkets, Tesco currently has a deal where you can nab the box for £2 instead of £3 if you have a Clubcard.
Many fans are still mourning the loss of another Mars treat, the discontinued Milky Way Crispy Rolls.
Mars confirmed the chocolate bar was discontinued back in 2022, but they have been spotted on shop shelves as recently as this month.
