Bargain hunters are on the lookout for Carmac dupes after Nestle made the “difficult decision” to discontinue the Caramac bar due to low sales.
The Caramac bar is a caramel-flavoured chocolate bar - its name is derived from the syllabic abbreviation of caramel and Mackintosh's which originally manufactured it
The iconic flavour came into play in the late 1950s with other variations making their way onto shop shelves too including a limited edition Caramac Kit Kat bar and Caramac buttons.
A Nestle spokesperson told The Sun: “We are very sorry to disappoint fans of Caramac. There has been a steady decline in its sales over the past few years and we had to make the difficult decision to discontinue it.
“We know fans will be disappointed to see it go, but this change will enable us to focus on our best-performing brands, as well as develop exciting new innovations to delight our consumers’ tastebuds.”
